P wave and QT dispersion in pregnant women with Familial Mediterranean fever

چکیده
Objective Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is the most common hereditary monogenic auto-inflammatory disease. It is characterized by recurrent, self-limited episodes of fever and sterile inflammation of serous membranes. Pregnancy therefore acts as a medical stress test for the mother. This is particularly evident in women who conceive with chronic medical disorders. The limited reserves of an impaired organ will be unmasked and the organ fails to increase its function during pregnancy One of the most important factors that contribute to increased cardiovascular risk appears to be systemic inflammation. Patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases are now considered to have an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Despite its inflammatory nature there are conflicting results as to the association between FMF and increased risk for cardiovascular diseases. It has been never investigated before, any ECG or echocardiographic changes in pregnant with FMF. In this study, we aimed to evaluate of electrical conduction in pregnant women with and without FMF by using ECG and echocardiography.

P wave and QT dispersion in familial mediterranean fever.
OBJECTIVE Familial mediterranean fever (FMF) is the most common auto-inflammatory disease that is characterized by recurrent, self-limited attacks of fever and serous membrane inflammation. Patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases are considered to have a raised cardiovascular diseases risk. The aim of this study was to investigate; by means of P wave dispersion (Pd) and QT dispersion (QTd...
متن کاملFamilial Mediterranean Fever is associated with abnormal ventricular repolarization indices.
BACKGROUND Cardiac arrhythmias can be a part of cardiovascular involvement in some rheumatic diseases, but data about familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) are conflicting. AIM To search for abnormalities in ventricular repolarization indices in FMF patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS Seventy seven FMF patients and 30 age/gender comparable healthy controls were included. All patients were attack fr...
متن کاملAssessment of myocardial repolarisation parameters in patients with familial Mediterranean fever
BACKGROUND Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is a chronic, recurrent auto-inflammatory disease characterised by self-terminating attacks of fever and sterile polyserositis. The main cause of death in auto-inflammatory diseases is cardiovascular events. Additionally, auto-inflammatory diseases have potential effects on the myocardial repolarisation parameters, including the T-wave peak-to-end (...
متن کاملP01-038 – QT and JT dispersion in children with FMF
Introduction Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is an autoimmune, autosomal recessive inherited disorder, and characterized by recurrent episodes of peritonitis, plöritis and arthritis. Patients with inflammatory disease are at increased risk of cardiovascular complications due to rhythm disorders. QT and JT dispersions are simple and non-invasive arrhythmogenic markers and can be used to asses...
